Top 50 TV Series Streaming on Hulu – November 2017

Hulu hosts an incredible amount of great TV shows that can be enjoyed at a moments notice, but sometimes it’s hard to decide where to start. That’s where we come in, we have compiled a Top 50 list of all the TV series that are currently available on Hulu. Unfortunately, we’re not perfect, so if you are browsing Hulu and spot something that you think deserved to be on our list, please tell us in the comments below.

This list excludes shows that aren’t available with a standard Hulu subscription.

50. Pokémon

Seasons Available: 3 (Seasons 14,15,16)

Hulu hosts 3 seasons of the popular anime Pokémon, originally from Japanese TV but was later adapted for worldwide broadcast, the show currently airs in 98 different countries. Ash is the main focus and is trying to fulfil his ultimate goal, to become a great Pokémon Master and “catch them all”. The Pokémon franchise has spawned countless other titles, including Video games, Movies, and many TV spin-offs; often met with millions of fans.

49. The Orville

Seasons Available: 1

The Orville is a band new FOX show created by and starring Seth McFarlane, as the interstellar captain of The Orville, a low-tear exploratory ship. The show is pretty much a Star Trek spoof/homage that incorporates many comedic elements that McFarlane has become known for. Despite some of the reviews from professional critics, the show has been quite popular among viewers, and fans hope to see more in the future.

48. Hell’s Kitchen

Seasons Available: 1 (Season 17)

The world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay hosts his notoriously brutal and unscripted cooking show in his Hollywood restaurant “Hell’s Kitchen”. He challenges young inspiring chefs with many different tasks, the winner will be awarded head chef position in one of his worldwide restaurants and be titled America’s next culinary star.

47. Glee

Seasons Available: 6

First released by FOX in 2009 Glee is an uplifting comedy that follows an ambitious group of misfits who decide to join the ‘glee club’ at high school. The club helps many of the students discover their confidence and voice, and in turn inspires them to pursue their dreams. Glee is defiantly one of those shows where you either love it or you hate it, so why not give it a go?

46. East Los High

The first but not last Hulu original on our list is East Los High, a Reality-TV drama that follows a group of Latino friends living in East Los Angeles. The show is packed with obstacles that test the groups’ morals along with plenty of romance and drama to keep you coming back for more.

45. Drake & Josh

Seasons Available: 4

Drake & Josh is an absolute classic and mostly everyone who watched Nickelodeon loved them. The show follows the two boys who suddenly become step-brothers, one’s a nerd, the other a super popular musician. Despite being totally opposite they end up bonding and becoming the best of brothers. Together they get into crazy situations and do everything they can to avoid getting in trouble. If you are feeling a little nostalgic and want to give this classic another watch, Hulu hosts all 4 seasons.

44. Deadbeat

Seasons Available: 3

Another Hulu Original is Deadbeat starring Tyler Labine as Kevin Pacalioglu, a man with not much going for him at the moment, apart from he can see dead people, so that’s something I guess. In order to get particularly annoying spirits off his back, Kevin must help them in solving their unfinished business, the easiest way possible.

43. Louie

Seasons Available: 5

Louis CK is a newly single dad living in New York attempting to maintain his career as a stand-up comedian. The single-camera show follows Louie though his everyday hectic life, a mix of his stand-up and scripted sketch type situations. Hulu supplies all 5 season of the FX show and for a comedy, it has been received extremely well.

42. Chance

Seasons Available: 2

One of Hugh Laurie’s best performances is in the Hulu Original Chance. Hugh plays a forensic neuro-psychiatrist who unfortunately gets dragged into a world of violence and corruption that he just can’t seem to shake. The psychological thriller does a great job at being intelligent but creepy at the same time. The engrossing story will leave you coming back time and again, and if you like thrillers this is perfect for you. Season 2 has also debuted on Hulu.

41. Freakish

Seasons Available: 2 

After a local chemical plant melts down a group of students become trapped close by inside a high school. A mysterious mutated predator begins to hunt down the survivors one by one in this suspenseful horror. Freakish is another Hulu original making our list and season 2 premiered on October 18th, ready for you to get stuck into.

40. Death Note

Seasons Available: 1

Death Note is defiantly one of the more well-known Anime shows and first aired back in 2006. The show is based on the Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and tells the story of Light Yahami, an intelligent high-school student who discovers a notebook that’s tied to a death-god (Shinigami) named Ryuk. Light discovers that any name he writes in the book dies, anyway he wishes. So he embarks on cleansing the world of evil and acting as a sort of God.


39. The Regular Show

Seasons Available: 8

The Regular Show is a Cartoon Network original not particularly aimed at kids, so be careful watching with young children as it is rated a PG. The show is centred around the ridiculous adventures of two best friends, one is a blue jay and the other a racoon, yeah, completely regular. They both work as groundskeepers and attempt to make their mundane jobs as fun as possible.

38. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Sarah Michelle Gellar first graced our screens as Buffy the Vampire Slayer all the way back in 1997, since then this action/comedy show has captured the hearts of many. Buffy Summers is a young woman who has been gifted with the strength and determination to hunt and kill vampires; her true destiny. She must fulfil her destiny but while still juggling her personal life, which on its own is full of drama. The show is packed with action and badass moments that any action fan can appreciate.

37. The Last Man on Earth

Seasons Available: 4

The Last Man on Earth is an Emmy nominated FOX series based on a single man, Phil Miller and his sudden solitude. Phil was just an average guy, but now it seems like he is the only guy, as he travels in his RV in the search of another human being, hopefully, a woman. All four seasons of this show are currently available to stream on Hulu.

36. Shadow Hunters: The Moral Instrument

Seasons Available: 2

Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) has just discovered that she is part of an ancient bloodline who are gifted with angelic powers, which are used to defend the world from deadly demons. After Clary’s mother is taken, she must team up with fellow warriors to recover her and her hidden legend. This freeform production has had mixed reviews but it’s still worth a watch.

35. The Strain

Seasons Available: 3

Guillermo Del Toro brings the FX series The Strain a thriller based in New York City. An ancient and deadly virus breaks out from the CDC and starts to spread quickly through the city. Dr Ephraim Goodweather, a team of CDC scientists and a group of average New Yorkers now must attempt to bring the virus under control, for the sake of humanity itself.

34. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Seasons Available: 7

There are a lot of opinions floating around about the old Star Trek series. But often old Trek fans come back to Deep Space Nine, the series spanning from 1993 to 1999 aboard the ship of the same name. What set DS9 apart from the others was its innovative techniques, intelligent story and developed characters. It goes without saying that some people will not agree with DP9 being the best, but it’s good to know that Hulu hosts all 7 seasons.

33. Samurai Jack

Seasons Available: 4

Our first, but not last Adult Swim title on this list is Samurai Jack, the story of a young Japanise prince who is cast out when his father’s empire is overthrown by the evil demon Aku. Before Jack and enact revenge, he is thrown thousands of years into the future into the world completely controlled by Aku and his minions. The show has won 4 Primetime Emmys and will soon return for the 5th season.

32. Shameless (US)

Seasons Available: 8

Actually one of the few American adapted show that hasn’t been ruined. Shameless follows a single dad who spends most of his waking moments trying to pass out drunk, but despite this, his six children are trying to manage the best they can. If you either liked or never watched the original series, you should still give this a watch, it’s a well-loved drama/comedy, just like the UK version. The 8th season has just debuted, and at the time of writing the 1st Episode is available to stream.

31. Fear the Walking Dead

Seasons Available: 2

Brought out by AMC as a spinoff to ‘The Walking Dead’, this series begins at the actual start of the zombie outbreak, following two families from Los Angeles who are seeking shelter from the horror of this new world. This series brings a completely different angle of the Apocalypse as the virus hits the west coast. The first two seasons are available to stream, with the third one soon on its way.

30. Designated Survivor

Seasons Available: 2

Starring Kiefer Sutherland as the sudden and unexpected leader of the free world. A devastating terrorist attack stricks at the heart of America and destroys the capital building killing the president and nearly all members of Congress. Now, this low-level cabinet member must step up to the presidency and battle a hidden conspiracy along with running the country. The second season is now being added in weekly instalments to Hulu.


29. Sons of Anarchy

Seasons Available: 7

A notorious motorcycle club named the Sons of Anarchy resides in a small American town, and they intend to protect their territory doing whatever it takes. The show does a great job at showing the true brotherhood that is formed between the club’s members. And with a Golden Globe under its belt, this Crime Drama is a worthy contender.

28. Robot Chicken

Seasons Available: 8

Another Adult Swim title available on Hulu is the popular comedy show Robot Chicken, a stop-motion animation that takes a certain spin on pop culture shows. Created and often voiced by Seth Green and Matthew Senriech the show has captured many fans since its creation back in 2001. It’s ridiculously dark, crazy and hilarious content really sets the show apart from other spoofs.

27.  Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Seasons Available: 5

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a police department in New York, and this comedy series follows the ensemble of officers that work to protect and serve. The main focus of the show is on Jake, a carefree, immature but brilliant detective who is used to messing around with no consequences. The department gets a new no-nonsense captain and suddenly Jake might actually have to get his act together. The show is split up into 20-odd minute episodes with 92 being immediately accessible on Hulu.

26. Lucifer

Seasons Available: 3

Tom Ellis takes up the role of Lucifer Morningstar a new Los Angeles citizen, but that’s only because he got bored of his tedious life torturing souls in hell. He decides to become an LAPD consultant and using his telepathic abilities helps the police bring justice to criminals.  But after meeting an LAPD officer who seems to be immune to Lucifer’s charms, he is determined not to return to the underworld.

25. Arrested Development

Seasons Available: 3

Arrested Development is a critically acclaimed show originally created by FOX, and follows the Bluth family as the level-headed brother takes over, following the imprisonment of the father. Michael Bluth now must attempt to manage his over the eccentric family after all their assets are frozen, and they are essentially bankrupt. The show has won a Golden Globe and one of IMDB’s top-rated TV shows, and downright hilarious.

24. 11.22.63

Seasons Available: 1 (8-Part Series)

James Franco stars in the Hulu Original 11.22.63, and anyone particularly familiar with American history will recognise that date, as it is the day JFK was assassinated. Jake Epping, a high school teacher now has the opportunity to stop the shooting, and change history forever. But will he manage to solve one of the greatest mysteries of the 20th century?

23. Archer

Seasons Available: 7

Archer is an animated comedy that follows a group of secret agents who take place in covert operations and espionage. This proves to become quite difficult, among all the relationship squabbles and personal situations that make this show what it is. The raunchy comedy has won 2 Primetime Emmys and all 7 seasons of the show are available to stream, with the 8th coming soon.


22. Once Upon a Time

Seasons Available: 1 (Season 7)

Once Upon a Time is an ABC show that first released in 2011 and tells the tale of Emma Swan, a 28-year-old woman who suddenly discovers she is actually the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. She was cast out by the Evil Witch who is determined to collide both the fantasy world and the modern day. Season 7 will premiere on October 6th, so you better be caught up!

21. Scrubs

Seasons Available: 9 

All 9 seasons of this Comedy ER Drama is available on Hulu. John “J.D” Dorian is a new rookie at Sacred Heart Hospital and his journey learning to cope with the world of medicine will be a messy but funny one. The show has plenty of greatly loved characters and a loyal following quite similar to ‘Friends’.

20. The Good Wife

Seasons Available: 7

After a particularly humiliating scandal involving sex and corruption, Alicia’s husband is now behind bars. For the first time in years, she is no longer a housewife and must prove herself adamantly at “Stern, Lockhart & Gardner” a law firm, whilst still looking after her two children. The show is intelligent and well written perfect for someone who enjoys a more political program. Currently, all 7 seasons are ready to stream.

19. Smallville

Seasons Available: 10

In Smallville, Kansas lives Clark Kent, a young teenager who struggles with typical teenage issues, apart from he has superhuman alien powers. The show has been cast perfectly and does a great job at portraying Clark attempting to find his place in the world. The show spanned 10 years/10 seasons and was awarded a total of 3 Primetime Emmys during its lifetime.

18. Preacher

Seasons Available: 1

Dominic Cooper takes the role Jesse Custer, a Texan preacher with a drinking problem. However, a wandering soul takes Jesse as a vessel and bonds with him, supposedly telling him the word of god. After his faith is rekindled Jesse reaches out for the help of a vampire, in order to help him “find God”. The Fantasy Drama has attracted a lot of attention for its unique plot and so far is doing a great job, bearing in mind it only started last year.

17. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Seasons Available: 12

Five friends with massive egos run an Irish bar in Philadelphia, what could go wrong? Everything apparently. The group never seem to learn from their hilarious mistakes and the show could be compared to the likes of “The Office”, “Arrested Development” and even “South Park”, with some of its wicked and satire humour that so many love. The original pilot was created on a budget of less than $200 and even though it was taken up by FX, it has not lost its charm.

16. Grey’s Anatomy

Seasons Available: 1 (Season 14)

Hospitals and their employees have to cope with life-or-death situations on a daily basis, and this is no different for the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Meredith Grey is the daughter of the best surgeons in the country and aspires to have even close to the respect her mother receives. You can imagine how much pressure this is, especially with all the personal and professional challenges that come along with being a Doctor. This show is regarded as one of the best medical dramas out there and if that is your thing, then you shouldn’t hesitate in giving this a watch.

15. Gravity Falls

Seasons Available: 2

Another animated pick on our list is the popular Disney XD show ‘Gravity Falls’ created by Alex Hirsh, a good friend of the creator of Rick and Morty; Justin Roiland. The show follows the supernatural goings-on around the fictional town of Gravity Falls, and the twin siblings Dipper and Mabel who set out to discover them. Even though the show is created and aired on the kids Disney channel it’s developed a significant adult following for its excellent animation, characters and story.

14. Adventure Time

Seasons Available: 8

It’s not often you find a show that is greatly loved by both adults and kids alike, but when you do, it’s glorious. Adventure Time is one of those shows, it follows Finn, a human boy, and his best friend Jake, a Dog with magical powers who venture out in the fantasy world of “Ooo!” in search of amazing adventures that literally could involve anything. It was originally created as a short animation, but since then has been developed into a full 8 season (so far) TV show, that has definitely not disappointed fans. All 8 seasons are available to stream right now on Hulu.

13. Parks and Recreation

Seasons Available: 7

The mockumentary Parks and Recreation is about the antics of an Indiana town’s public officials. Doesn’t sound particularly interesting but the actors including Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Nich Offerman and many more, make the experience beyond enjoyable. Fans of The Office will love this show and if you haven’t started it yet, you’ve got plenty to catch up on.

12. How I met your Mother

Seasons Available: 9

After Ted’s best friend announces he is going to propose to his longtime girlfriend, he suddenly realises that he better get a move on if he also wanted to find a life-long partner. A total of 9 seasons were dedicated to Ted telling his children how he met their mother, let’s just say he didn’t paraphrase. Many grew to love this series over its lifetime and if you’ve never watched it, it’s a sweet little romantic comedy to get stuck into.

11. Futurama

Seasons Available: 10

As well as The Simpsons, Matt Groening is well known for creating the animated series Futurama. The show started back in 1999 and follows Fry, a pizza guy who is accidentally cryogenically frozen for 1000 years, and wakes up in a completely different world full of aliens and high-tech robots. The Sci-fi comedy is loved by many, and after most of the show has been dropped from Netflix, you’ll be pleased to hear that all 10 seasons are available to view on Hulu.

10. Cheers

Seasons Available: 11

The 1982 Sitcom Cheers takes place in a Boston bar from 1982 to 1993. Over the years viewers got to know the lives of both the regulars and the employees extremely well. Cheers is regarded as an absolute classic full, of friendly, but slightly depressing faces who all know your name. Even after all these years, there is absolutely nothing wrong with going on Hulu and giving a few episodes a re-watch, especially seeing as all 11 seasons are available.

9. Vikings

Seasons Available: 4

Vikings is a period action/drama produced by the History Channel and takes place in the world of the brutal Vikings, and their historic occupation of England. Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel) earns his place as a legend, and in the history books as the one who leads the Viking hoards across the North Sea to discover faraway lands. The enjoyable show gives a unique take on the Vikings way of life and has been a present surprise for many.

8. South Park

Seasons Available: 21

A staggering 277 episodes out of a total of 280 are ready to stream on Hulu right away. The show mainly revolves around the strange adventures of four young boys; Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny. South Park has become well known for its dark, offensive and sensitive topics. The show uses a unique style, with computer animation emulating the cutout technique that is immediately associated with South Park. A total of 5 Primetime Emmys have been won so far, season 21 released back in September 2017.

7. Bob’s Burgers

Seasons Available: 8

The number 7 spot is taken by another popular animated show titled Bob’s Burgers. The Fox series follows the Belcher family, Bob and Linda, along with their kids Tina, Gene, and Louise. As the title implies they run a slightly unsuccessful hamburger restaurant in an unnamed coastal community. The animated sitcom has been nominated six times for the ‘Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program’ and even won in 2014. This lighthearted show is loved by many and definitely worth a binge

6. Rick and Morty

Seasons Available: 2

Since its creation by Justin Rolland and Dan Harmon; Rick and Morty has quickly become a pop culture bomb picking up millions of dedicated fans since 2013. The show originally stemmed from a short parody of Back to the Future, and was soon picked up by Adult Swim with a few alterations, the main one being substituting time travel for interdimensional travel. Rick Sanchez is one of the greatest minds in the universe and partnered with his moronic grandson Morty, they get into a number of insane adventures. Currently, 2 seasons of the show are streaming to Hulu, so if you haven’t started them yet, you better hurry because season 3 is coming soon!

5. The Simpsons

Seasons Available: 1 (Season 29)

The Simpsons are arguably one of the longest and most influential animated shows of all time. The show first debuted in 1989 and since then a total of 618 episodes have been aired over 28 seasons. It mostly focuses on a single dysfunctional family living in the American town Springfield but is defiantly not short of supporting characters. Currently, only season 28 is available to view on Hulu but the show has been renewed for another 2 seasons that we expect to span into 2019.

4. Homeland

Seasons Available: 6

This 2011 Showtime series is a Mystery crime drama that revolves around a CIA operative who is convinced an American prisoner of war has been turned by al-Qaeda and is going to carry out a devastating terrorist attack. Staring such talent as Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin, there is no shortage of amazing acting. The 5 time Golden Globe-winning show is a sophisticated drama suitable for any Crime, Drama lover.

3. Family Guy

Seasons Available: 16

Family Guy is just one of those shows where you either love it, or hate it. And luckily for Seth MacFarlane, a lot of people absolutely adore this animated sitcom parody. The show follows a dysfunctional family (to say the least) who’s everyday life consists of constant crazy scenarios. Peter Griffin is the ignorant, immature dad paired with a stay-at-home wife Lois and their three completely different and troublesome children. All 16 seasons are available to stream, so even if you don’t like the later stuff, you can always go back and watch some of the old classic seasons.

2. Fargo

Seasons Available: 2

Fargo is a crime/thriller that takes place in the snowy state of Minnesota. The show follows the mysterious goings-on that have been taking place over the years, that always somehow seem to lead back to a crime syndicate based in Fargo. Along with an ‘all-star’ cast consisting of Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Ewan McGregor, Ted Danson and many more, the show has been sky-rocketed to popularity and critical acclaim, even winning 2 Golden Globes. The show is amazingly produced and we can’t wait to see season three arrive on our screens.

1. Seinfeld

Seasons Available: 9

Our top spot for this month goes to the 1989 comedy classic ‘Seinfeld’. A show where Jerry Seinfeld plays himself venturing through everyday life alongside his friends in New York city. Upon its debut, the show quickly rose to huge success and even now, 19 years since the show finished it’s still often regarded as one of the best comedy sitcoms, and still holds a place in many peoples hearts. Despite the show’s clever writing and character development, the main reason Seinfeld made our number one spot is because of how relevant and popular it has stayed after so long. A total of 171 episodes are currently available to stream on Hulu.
